Each COI is a specialized SFAS team, dedicated to learning more about their common interest, speaking to SFAS on that topic, and providing on-topic auction goods to SFAS. All SFAS members will be offered the chance to join a COI group.

COI GOALS

1.To increase SFAS enjoyment of our hobby

2.To develop SFAS expertise and communication in specific COI areasTo improve the quality and dependability of goods brought to SFAS auctions. (Regular live food, anyone?)

3.To have COI leaders provide an SFAS 1-hour lecture about their activities, perhaps twice each year

4.To acquire new SFAS members, possibly from local special interest aquarium clubs.

5.To provide COI leaders an SFAS-based forum with which to market their goods

6.To provide more auction income to SFAS.

COI DETAILS

7.COI groups will meet from 7:00-7:15 PM at each regular SFAS meeting. SFAS will dedicate a few meetings per year to COI. At these meetings the COI leaders will present their group’s progress and expectations. SFAS will not hire an outside speaker for these meetings.

8.COI group size: Minimum starting size is 1 leader + at least 2 group members. If the group size falls to just 1 for two consecutive months, then the other COI leaders may vote to eliminate that COI.

9.SFAS will provide $20 seed money to each COI.

10.The COI leaders and SFAS General Membership will select the most appreciated COI for a TBD prize.

11.The minimum COI team is 1 leader and 2 other members.
